TAKE OUR KIDS TO WORK DAY

Grade 9 Students — Step Into the World of Work!

Vic High Grade 9 students are invited to spend Take Our Kids to Work Day experiencing a real workplace alongside a parent, relative, family friend or another trusted adult.

This is your chance to step outside the classroom and see what a typical workday actually looks like. You don’t need to choose a workplace connected to a career you already want to pursue. The goal is to explore, ask questions, meet people and discover something new!

By spending a day in the workplace, you can:

  • 👀 See careers in action and learn what people actually do during their workday.
  • 🤝 Connect with people in our community and hear about their career journeys.
  • 💡 Discover careers you may not have considered or even known existed.
  • 🛠️ Learn how school connects to the workplace, including communication, teamwork, problem-solving and responsibility.
  • Ask questions about education, training, skills and different pathways into careers.
  • 🌎 Experience a new environment and begin building confidence outside of school.
  • 🧭 Start thinking about your own future by learning what you like, what interests you and what you might want to explore next.

Not sure what you want to do after high school? That’s okay! Grade 9 is a great time to start exploring. Every workplace experience can teach you something about the world of work and, more importantly, about yourself.

Talk with your family and start thinking about where YOU could spend Take Our Kids to Work Day
