Bridge to Campus-UBC, UofT, McGill University, Queen’s Waterloo

Thinking about university can bring a lot of questions: Which program is right for me? What is university life actually like? How do I prepare for applications, and what should I expect once I get there?

These are questions many students face when preparing for their next chapter, and they are exactly why Bridge to Campus (BTC) was founded.

Bridge to Campus is a student-led, federally recognized non-profit organization established by university students who shared a common goal: to make the transition from high school to university a little less daunting and a lot more accessible. Having navigated the process themselves, our founding members recognized how valuable it can be to learn from someone who has been in your shoes.

Today, BTC has five university chapters across Canada: the University of British Columbia (UBC), the University of Toronto (UofT), McGill University, Queen’s University, and the University of Waterloo. Through our initiatives, we connect high school students with university students who can share their experiences, offer guidance, and help them explore the many possibilities ahead.

How can Bridge to Campus support you?

  • One-on-One Mentorship: Get paired with a university student mentor based on factors such as your academic interests, prospective universities and programs, and extracurricular interests. Whether you have questions about applications, choosing a major, or adjusting to university life, your mentor can offer guidance drawn from their own experiences.
  • Webinars: Learn about university admissions, academics, campus life, and more through informative sessions led by university students. These sessions are an opportunity to explore your options and get answers to questions you may not know where else to ask.
  • Essay Review: Receive constructive feedback on your university application and scholarship essays from a group of trained mentors. The goal is to help you communicate your experiences, strengths, and aspirations clearly and confidently.
  • Coffee Chats: Connect with university students in a more informal setting, ask questions, and hear what university is really like beyond the brochures and websites.

At Bridge to Campus, we believe that preparing for university should be about more than just applications and admission decisions. It should also be about discovering your interests, exploring new opportunities, and feeling better equipped to take the next step. Sometimes, hearing from someone who has been through the same process can make all the difference.
